The skies have been clear often, and it’s been perfect flying weather. As we head into the final stretch of the year, we wanted to share some updates and exciting news from around the airport.

Successful EAA Chapter 12 Rally: A Big Win for the Kids!

We had an incredible time hosting the EAA Chapter 12 Rally for kids here at the airport. It was heartwarming to see so many young faces light up as they got to experience aviation firsthand. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. It’s moments like these that remind us of the joy and excitement aviation can bring to the next generation!

A Busy Time with Transient Traffic & the Wings Over Houston Airshow

We’ve seen an increase in transient traffic recently, especially during the fantastic airshow at Ellington. It’s been a busy but exciting time here at KLVJ as we’ve welcomed visitors from near and far.

Meet Our Newest Team Member

Please join us in welcoming Willie to our team as the newest Line Service Technician. Willie brings a ton of passion for aviation to our airport family. We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to the great things we’ll accomplish together.

We’ve Been Hard at Work Keeping Things Running Smoothly

Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to keep everything running as smoothly as possible. Whether it's making sure fuel trucks are operational and on schedule or ensuring our self-serve equipment is up and running, we appreciate your continued patience during times of repairs. We know how important it is for you to have quick and reliable service, and our team is committed to providing that every day. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to keep the airport operations seamless!

Safety Reminders

As always, safety is our top priority. Please keep your eyes and ears open while on the airport grounds, and remember that we all play a role in maintaining a safe environment. A quick reminder: burning trash at the airport is strictly prohibited. This is for the safety of everyone on and around the airfield.

Also, if you need to coordinate a runway escort for oversized vehicles, please be sure to plan ahead and let us know in advance. Make sure you have a designated parking spot available for these vehicles that won’t interfere with taxiway traffic.

Winter-Proof Your Water Lines
As we enter colder weather patterns, we want to remind everyone around the airport to winter-proof your water lines now to avoid any unexpected issues when temperatures drop. Taking a few simple steps—like insulating pipes, checking for leaks, and draining any outdoor faucets—can save you from costly repairs and downtime later. We encourage all tenants and businesses to get ahead of the season and ensure everything is properly prepared for winter. A little preparation now can go a long way in preventing disruptions when the cold weather sets in.

As the holiday season approaches, we want to make sure you’re aware of our FBO hours. Please note the following special hours for Christmas and New Year's:

Christmas Eve (Dec. 24th) 08:00-12:00
Christmas Day (Dec. 25th) CLOSED

New Year's Eve (Dec. 31st) 08:00-12:00
New Year's Day (Jan. 1st) CLOSED
